Buchanan Produces Top Racers Performance In North Carolina

The Racers played their final event of the fall season in Greensboro
Murray State men's golfer John Buchanan came home with a spot in 19th place and the Racers finished 11th at the Grandover Collegiate at the Grandover Resort – West Course in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Buchanan's trio of even-par scores of 72 propelled him to his lowest 54-hole total of the 2022 fall season (72-72-72=216) and to his best career total.

The Racers (296-301-297=894) slipped two spots in the final round to an 11th place showing, ahead of Ohio and George Mason and just behind Kennesaw State. Host UNCG won their home event at 826, with Elon (848), Davidson (850), Harvard (867) and East Carolina (868) making up the top-5.

Alex Heffner of Davidson College was the medalist with a score line of 66-71-68=205.

The start of the spring portion of the 2022-23 season happens when the Racers take on Austin Peay in their annual Battle of the Border. The match-play competition (Feb. 11) happens at Hopkinsville Country Club in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
