Tee Time: Racers Take on Govs In Popeyes Battle of the Border

The Murray State men's golf team takes on the Austin Peay Governors in the second Popeyes Battle of the Border Match Play on Saturday (Feb. 11) at Hopkinsville Country Club in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

The Racers and Govs stage nine singles match play tandems in a head-to-head competition in which the first team to five wins, gets bragging rights for another year. The Racers won the inaugural event a year ago in Hopkinsville by a 5-4 score. Murray State returners Walker Beck, Kamaren Cunningham, Carson Holmes and Tyler Powell each won their matches.

The first pair tees off at 11:30 a.m. when Murray State's Derek Limberg takes on APSU's Jay Fox. The final match goes off the first tee at Hopkinsville Country Club at 12:34 p.m. when MSU's Jay Nimmo meets APSU's Jakob Falk Schollert.

The Racers and Govs were in the same field at the UTM Skyhawk Classic (Sept. 20). MSU finished with a team score of 870 and APSU was at 892.
