Racers Close Season at NCAA Regionals

Men's cross country place 26th at NCAA Southeast Regionals
Murray State men's cross country place 26th out of 34 teams at the NCAA Southeast Regionals hosted by Louisville, Friday.
Jorge Ruiz led the Racers through the 10,000 meter race finishing 87th overall. Ruiz started the first kilometer 151st before moving up to 104th in the four kilometer mark then gradually moving up to finish 87th with a time of 31:46.9.
Vicente Correia place second for the Racers, placing 136th overall. Correia split the first kilometer 179th and moved up to 146th in the six kilometer mark. He proceeds to chase down more runners and eventually finished 136th.
Correia placed 157th in last year's NCAA Regionals.
Jarod Willis is third for the Racers. He started the race at 210th before moving up to 171th in the six kilometer mark. Willis moved up again to finish 164th with a time of 33:44.4.
The Racers showed improvements in placing, Ruiz placed 127th, Correia placed 157th and Willis 204th in last year's NCAA Regionals.
Ryan Dent is fourth for the Racers, placing 178th overall with a time of 34:09.9. Joey Santoro rounds up the Racer top five at 191th with a time of 34;44.4.
"The culture of the men's team has made this season rewarding," said cross country coach, Jordan Johnston." Everyone is bouth in and working hard for each other and I am happy with the season with everything that they've accomplished."
The Racer's close the 2022 season in this NCAA Regional Championship.Â
