Racers Preparing for Strong Competition at Gans Creek Classic

The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams are set to compete in the 2026 Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.

The women will compete in the 6K at 9:45 a.m., followed by the men's 8K at 10:30 a.m. CT.

Host Missouri is ranked No. 26 nationally. Other schools in the Gans Creek Classic include Arkansas, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Drake, Florida State, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, Northern Iowa, Ole Miss, Pacific, Portland, Rice, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, and Wyoming.

The Racers last appeared at the OVC Preview in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Dylan Ellis led the way for the men, placing fourth in the 8K with a time of 25:59.3, while Molly Robertson took second in the women's 6K with a time of 22:08.3. In the season-opening meet at Eastern Illinois, the Racers claimed five of the top ten spots in the women's 5K and each of the top six spots in the men's 5K.
