Racers Come Up With Best Fall Finish at Ozarks National

The Racers finished second, just one shot off the pace of winner South Dakota

The Murray State women's golf team came home with their best finish of the fall 2022 season with a second place showing at the Ozarks National Invitational in Hollister, Missouri.

The Racers carded team scores over the three days of 306-291-309=906, just one shot from winner South Dakota at 905. Wichita State (909), Omaha (911) and Toledo (912) made up the top-5. The Racers, a new member of the Missouri Valley Conference bested fellow league members Drake (918), Missouri State (925), Northern Iowa (928), Bradley (935) and Indiana State (950).

Payton Carter was the Racers' top performer with a spot in fourth place on scores of 75-72-74=221, while Kaitlyn Zieba gave the Racers a second player in the top-10 with a ninth place showing 76-71-80=227. Eliza Mae Kho placed 21^st after scores of 79-74-77=230 and Ana Picchi had scores of 76-76-80=232 to finish 27^th. McKenna Stahl was in 34^th place on scores of 82-74-78=234. Playing as a solo player, Alma Garcia placed 39^th overall and third among six individual players with scores of 74-75-87=236.
