Murray State Fell 8-5 to Southeast Missouri on Saturday Afternoon
Murray State (15-14) baseball fell to Southeast Missouri 8-5 on Saturday afternoon at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. With the loss to the conference preseason favorites, the Racers fall to 1-7 in OVC play on the year.
The Racers were led by freshman Carson Garner who collected the second three-hit game of his young career. Shortstop Drew Vogel provided his first home run of the year on a three-run blast in the first inning to give MSU the early lead before SEMO outscored the Racers 8-1 the rest of the way. Brennan McCullough provided a hit and an RBI in the contest.Â
Alec Whaley tossed 0.2 scoreless innings while striking out one in relief.Â
