Racers Fall to Austin Peay in Series Opener

Murray State Dropped Game One of the Series with Austin Peay 8-3 on Friday Night
Murray State (25-20) baseball fell 8-3 to Austin Peay on Friday night at Raymond Hand Park in Clarksville, Tennessee. The Racers had won seven of their last eight heading into the contest and are now 7-3 in their last 10 games.
Bryson Bloomer kept his scorching bat going with four more hits in the contest and added an RBI to his total. The redshirt senior now has a .370 batting average in Ohio Valley Conference games this season and upped his season RBI total to 53. Wes Schad drove in two RBIs on a base hit in the contest to lead the Racers RBI count on the night. Drew Vogel, Jake Slunder, and Riley Hawthorne all collected a hit in the game while Dustin Mercer earned his first conference hit of the season in just his second game overall this year.
Allen Roulette had an impressive outing on the mound for MSU, tossing 3.0 scoreless relief innings with no walks and three strikeouts.
