The Murray State Racers fell to 2-5 away from home after their first appearance at Drake’s Knapp Center
The Murray State Racers dropped an 82-64 loss Saturday to the Drake Bulldogs at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa, and snapping their run of back-to-back wins.

Murray State (9-7) dropped to 4-2 in Missouri Valley Conference and they continue their first trip to the Hawkeye State Tuesday when they take on the Northern Iowa Panthers.

JaCobi Wood had his fourth 20-point scoring game with 20 to lead the Racers, while Brian Moore, Jr., scored 14 points for back-to-back games of 10-plus points.

When Wood scored 10 of the first 12 points for MSU, the Racers enjoyed a 12-9 lead just more than five minutes into the contest. Drake hit the Racers with a 20-2 run over 7:45 and pushed their lead to 29-14. MSU cut the Bulldog lead to nine points with 4:03 remaining, but trailed 44-29 at the halftime intermission. In the second half, MSU hit their first three shots to get as close as 11 points, but was never able to get any closer the rest of the game.

- Today's game marked the first meeting between the Racers and Bulldogs in Des Moines.
- Drake returns the game to Murray (Feb. 7).
- Wood scored 10 of the Racers first 12 points.
- Wood has games of 20 points or more four times this season. Texas A&M, UMass, Chicago State and Drake.
- Moore scored his MSU career-high with 14 points. His previous high of 10 points came against Middle Tennessee and Bradley
- After Quincy Anderson became the Racers fourth career 1,000-point scorer in the Bradley game, the next closest to 1000 points for the Racers is JaCobi Wood. After his 20 points today, he has 730 in his collegiate career.
- Anderson's consecutive games streak with a made 3-point basket is now 10 after he hit one in the second half. His last game without a 3-pointer was at Chattanooga (Nov. 26).
- Vs NCAA D-I opponents, the Racers lost their first game when having 32 or more paint points. Those wins have come against: Tulsa, Valparaiso, Chicago State, Austin Peay, Evansville and Bradley. MSU had 32 points today, but gave up 36 to the Bulldogs.
- Tuesday's game in Cedar Falls marks the first game in the history of Racer Basketball against Northern Iowa. Game time is 7 p.m. CT from UNI's McLeod Center.
