Last Time Out
The Racers took an 82-64 setback at Drake Saturday in a game where they shot 44 percent, but gave up 11 threes to the Bulldogs. MSU led early 12-9 and never got any closer than 11 points in the second half. JaCobi Wood scored 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting, but MSU's leading scorer, Rob Perry was held to less than half his season average with seven points. The Racers scored their seventh game of 32 points or more in the paint, but took their first loss in that scenario, while they gave up 36 points in the paint to the Bulldogs.

Racers & Panthers Series
While difficult to believe, it's true that Murray State and UNI have never met in men's collegiate basketball.That all changed when the Racers became one of three new members (along with Belmont & UIC) of the Missouri Valley Conference after being a founding member and 74 years in the Ohio Valley Conference.
In MSU's 98th season and the 120th season for UNI, the two finally meet.

By the way, the Racer football program is now a member of the MVFC playing their first season in 2023, but not set to play UNI until the 2025 season. They have met one time in football, which was a 1995 FCS first round playoff game in Murray, which the Panthers won 35-34.

Cameron Payne's Jersey To Be Retired
We are week from honoring Murray State 2020 Hall of Fame member, Cameron Payne. His jersey No. 1 will be retired (Jan. 14) when the Racers host the UIC Flames at 3 p.m.. Payne arrived at MSU from Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis to an NBA veteran is an amazing story in Racer history.
