Racers Fall Across Tough Weekend Matchups

Murray State rifle dropped a pair of weekend matches
Vs Ole Miss
The Murray State rifle team hosted Ole Miss and Morehead State over the weekend for a full day of matches at the Pat Spurgin Rifle Range in Murray, Kentucky, but fell short to both teams.
Murray State started Saturday morning facing Ole Miss as the Racers shot a 2331 in smallbore and a 2371 in air rifle, finishing with season-high aggregate score in the 4714-4702 loss.
Senior Scott Patterson led the matchup with the highest aggregate score at 1182 (587 SB, 595 AR) as Alok Joarder continued his hot start to the fall with personal bests in smallbore and air rifle, shooting  a 581 and a 593, respectively. Joarder and John Blanton each fired a 1174 aggregate score on the day for MSU.
vs Morehead State
Murray State took on Morehead State Saturday afternoon, falling 4662-4638 (2293 SB, 2345 AR). Freshman Caroline Martin led the charge for the Racers, tying for top score of the match in air rifle with a 592 and ending the day with a 1166 aggregate score. Zach Jackson shot a 578 smallbore, with Noelle Meals firing a personal best smallbore at 569.Â
