Racers Host Bears and Salukis on Final Weekend at Home

Murray State volleyball will host Missouri State and Southern Illinois on senior day weekend.

Murray State volleyball will host Missouri State and Southern Illinois on their senior day weekend, Friday and Saturday. The senior day ceremony will be held on Saturday's match against SIU.
MSU enters the weekend with a 7-6 conference record and is coming off a reverse sweep win at Valparaiso, Saturday. They are currently sixth in the MVC standings.
The Racers won their meetings against Missouri State (3-1) and Southern Illinois (3-0) earlier this season.
NotesÂ
- Dahlia Miller was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week after leading the nation in digs per set with seven. She posted 40 digs in the Racers 3-2 win at Valpo.
- Miller was also included in the NCAA Michella Chester's Starting Rotation of last week for her performance.
- Haidi Miliou posted a career-high eight blocks on the Racers' win over Valpo.
- Miliou made a total of 13 blocks through last weekend, third in the MVC.
- Darci Metzger was second in the league in kills per set last weekend with 4.56.
- Bailey DeMier posted 10.78 assists per set last weekend. She remains first in the MVC with 11.07 assists per set.
Opponents
Missouri State
The Bears are placed eighth in the MVC standings with a 6-7 conference record. They are on a two-match winning streak with wins over Evansville (3-1) and Indiana State (3-1).
Junior middle blocker is the Bears' main offensive outlet, posting 258 kills this season with a .257 attack percentage. Missouri State has two setter options, with junior Morgan Sprague leading in assists with 584 and sophomore Josie Halbeib with 310.
On the back row, defensive specialist Teagan Polcovich leads the defense with 469 digs.
Southern Illinois
The Salukis are seventh in the MVC standings with a 6-7 conference record and 14-10 overall record. They are on a two-match winning streak with wins over Indiana State (3-1) and Evansville (3-1).
Senior outside hitter Nataly Garcia leads the Salukis in kills with 308. Middle blocker Imani Hartfield is their most effective hitter, with a .370 hit percentage while posting 175 total kills.
SIU has two control towers, with freshman setter Ema Stermenska leading in assists with 511. Followed by junior setter Anna Jaworski with 508 assists.Â
