The Racers add to Coach Steve Prohm’s 2024-25 signing class
Murray State men's basketball coach Steve Prohm announced the signing of forward Jordan McCullum who will join the Racers for the 2024-25 season as a freshman.
McCullum (6-8) is playing his senior season at Harriman High School in Harriman, Tennessee.
Â
"My staff and I are very glad to add Jordan to our Racer Nation family," Coach Prohm said. "Jordan brings great versatility and length to our program. He's a diligent student in the classroom and has only touched the surface of the kind of player that he can become in our program. We think he has an extremely high ceiling and can't wait to see him to continue to grow and develop on and off the court."
Â
McCullum is ranked 143rd by Rivals in their 2024 class, 149th by 24/7 Sports and 136th by On3 and 69th by HoopSeen. He competed last season at Huntington Prep where he had averages of 15.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.5 assists per game. McCullum is returning to Harriman High School for the 2023-24 season where he played as a freshman and sophomore. His freshman numbers at HHS included scoring 17.9 points per game with 8.1 rebounds per game. McCullum made a big leap as a sophomore with a scoring average of 22.7 points per game with 10.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.7 blocked shots and he earned Tennessee Class-A All-State honors at the end of the 2021-22 season. McCullum played for Bradley Beal Elite on the EYBL circuit.
Â
"I've known Jordan since he was in grade school and have watched him grow and come into his own," said Harriman Coach Shay Shannon. "He is very good in the classroom and it's great when we have the kind of player that has the ability to play at the next level. Murray State did a great job in building a solid relationship with him. Jordan felt Murray State to be a place that was welcoming and a place that he can continue to develop and he also understands that the Murray State program has a tremendous winning tradition. Jordan's biggest improvement has come on his outside shot. His versatility also includes a 6-11 wingspan."
