Murray State baseball took care of business with a win in the rubber match against the Panthers

The Murray State bats came out swinging in the rubber match, going for 13 hits in the contest. Mercer also picked up a double while scoring three runs and earning an RBI on the day. Carson Garner picked up a three-hit performance and drove in two RBIs to bring his batting average to .327 for the season.

Brennan McCullough picked up two hits and two RBIs in the matchup including a pivotal two-run single in the eighth inning. McCullough now has a .293 batting average for the year with 11 RBIs. Cade Sammons and Ethan Krizen both picked up multi-hit performances while Logan Bland and Jacob Pennington rounded out the offense for MSU.

Valero earned the start on the hill for the Racers, going 5.0 innings pitched with just one earned run and five strikeouts. Thomas McNabb and Ben Krizen continued their impressive string of bullpen outings combining for seven strikeouts against the Panthers. McNabb earned the win after allowing just two runs across 3.0 innings pitched while Krizen struck out two of the three batters he faced.

Murray State will be back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Florence, Alabama for a midweek tilt with North Alabama. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
