The Racers play their ninth competition of the 2022-23 season
The Murray State women's golf team plays their ninth event of the 2022-23 season at the GSU Spring Invitational, hosted by Georgia State at Rivermont GC in Johns Creek, Ga.
The schedule of play at Rivermont calls for a 36-hole day Monday and the final 18 Tuesday.
As the Racers competed at a high level, with five top-10 finishes in Coach Philip Nelson's first year, the Racers saw Payton Carter earn her fifth top-10 last week at the Bama Beach Bash in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Carter's 75.4 scoring average is sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference and Eliza Mae Kho's average of 77.1 is 19th. Kho's 68 she carded at the Atlantic Invitational (Feb. 20) in Boynton Beach, Florida is tied for the lowest round of 2022-23 in The Valley. Ana Picchi is ranked 37th in the MVC with a scoring average of 78.5. Alma Garcia is 40th at 78.8.
The Racers are eighth in The Valley with a scoring average of 309.7. Belmont leads the league at 300.1.
Rivermont GC opened in 1973 and has recently hosted the Georgia State Golf Association Championship, Atlanta Amateur and several USGA events.
