Racers Grab Two Wins on the Road

Murray State women's tennis defeats Central Arkansas and North Alabama
Murray State had a victorious weekend defeating Central Arkansas and North Alabama.
In their match against Central Arkansas, the Racers earned all their points in singles play. Sarah Bureau was the first to put the Racers on the board defeating her opponent in the first flight (6-1), (6-0). Emma Honore won her match (6-3), (6-2). Following was Annika Pschorr. She won the Racers their third point in three sets (1-6), (6-3), (7-5). Paola Campigotto clinched the match for the Racers, defeating her opponent (6-0), (6-3).
MSU then faced off against the Lions, Sunday.
The Racers won the doubles point in their match against North Alabama. Emma Honore/Annika Pschorr doubles pair defeated their opponents in the second flight (6-2). Paola Campigotto/Jordi Font Montero won in the third flight (6-3).
MSU clinched the match in singles play. The Racers had four singles wins. Sarah Bureau won in the first flight (6-3), (6-3). Emma Honore followed in the second defeating her opponent in three sets (3-6), (7-5), (6-3). Annika Pschorr won her match in three sets as well, winning (7-6), (3-6), (7-6). Paola Campigotto gave the Racers the 5-2 lead, defeating her opponent (6-1), (6-2).
"Two big wins for us as we get ready to start MVC competition. This weekend we were able to find answers when things were not going our way and kept the momentum going when we had it," said head coach Jorge Caetano.
"UCA and UNA pushed us, and we had to find answers in the big moments which ended up being the difference in our favor. We have a weekend off from competition where we will work on some things that need improvement, so we are ready for our inaugural MVC season in two weeks."
