Murray State take game three against the Evansville to win the weekend series.

In a Nutshell

Murray State softball won game three 6-2 to win the home series against Evansville, Sunday.

Lindsey Carroll opened up the Racers' offense after earning a walk before stealing a base to advance to third. Ailey Schyck plucks the fruits of the effort with a triple to the fight center field to score Carroll home. The Racers add another run in the second with an RBI double by Saxon Radcliffe to score Schyck home.

Carroll led the Racers' offense with a single to right field in the fourth inning. Schyck grounded out to the shortstop to advance Carroll to second before Bailey Broemmer hit a single to left center field to bring Carroll home. Erin Lackey added a buffer for the Racers by hitting an RBI double to left center field to bring Broemmer home.

MSU added two more runs in the fifth inning as Lily Fischer walked home and Adison Hicks scored home on a wild pitch. Evansville scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but it was not enough to extend the game.

Hannah James earned the win after pitching the first six innings and posting seven strikeouts while only allowing one hit and no runs.
