Racers Drop Series Opener to Bruins

Murray State fell 7-5 to Belmont despite launching four long balls
Murray State baseball fell 7-5 to Belmont on Friday evening at Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee. The Racers produced four home runs in the contest as they matched the Bruins with eight hits.
Carson Garner continued his string of round trippers with two in the contest following his walk-off blast on Tuesday night. Drew Vogel had a strong night at the plate with two hits including a big fly of his own while Taylor Howell rounded out the home runs with a solo blast in the ninth inning.
Relief pitcher tossed two perfect innings and picked up a strikeout to limit the Belmont offense late in the matchup.
Game two of the series is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday.
