Racers Take Series from Belmont in Dominant Fashion

Murray State defeated the Bruins 10-1 on Sunday afternoon
Murray State baseball took down Belmont 10-1 on Sunday afternoon at Rose Park in Nashville, Tennessee. The win gave the Racers the series win over the Bruins and gave them a 10-8 MVC record this season.
Carson Garner led the Racers at the plate once again, homering in his fourth straight game while adding a base hit and two runs scored. Eight Racers picked up a hit in the game as Dustin Mercer led MSU with three RBI's while Brennan McCullough and Seth Gardner each had two RBI's on the day.
Taylor Howell picked up a team-high three runs scored to go with a single and an RBI.
Starting pitcher Cade Vernon shined in the performance as he allowed just one run across 6.2 innings pitched to pick up his fourth win of the season. Thomas McNabb, Nathan Holler, and Ben Krizen combined for 2.1 scoreless relief innings for the Racers with a strikeout apiece.
Murray State continues its road swing with a Tuesday matchup at Southeast Missouri scheduled for 6 p.m.
