Racers Notch First Win Of 2023 At Jackson State

Grace Bodker nets her first game-winner at Murray State in a 2-0 victory over the Tigers
The Murray State women's soccer team picked up its first win of the year, 2-0, on the road at Jackson State on Sunday, August 27.
Graduate student Grace Bodker scored her second goal as a Racer for the game-winner in the 63rd minute, netting her first game-winner in the Navy and Gold. Less than 15 minutes later, sophomore Mary Hardy doubled the lead with her second goal in as many games on an assist from Morgan Parker.
With the victory over Jackson State, head coach Matt Lodge picked up his 50th win at the reigns at MSU to tie Jeremy Groves for the second-most wins all-time in program history.
Hardy took seven of the team's 10 shots, putting three out of five of them on target. With her goal in Sunday's match, she now has seven career goals scored.
Morgan Bodker, Audrey Henry and Hannah Carter all played the full 90 minutes for the fourth consecutive match.
The Racers will continue their road trip to St. Charles, Missouri, to face the Lindenwood Lions on Thursday, August 31 at 1 p.m.
