Learn Named MVC Newcomer of the Week

A dominant performance in the paint earned Ava Learn her first MVC honors.
The Murray State Women's Basketball's Ava Learn has been named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week as announced by the league, today.

The Pleasant Valley, New York, native averaged 11.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game through last week. She shows dominance in the paint by posting seven rebounds and three blocks on the Racers win over Indiana State followed by a 14-points and eight-rebound performance on the Racers' triumph at Evansville.

Learn is second for the Racers in total points this season with 174 just behind Katelyn Young's 261. She is the second most efficient shooter in the MVC with a .573 shooting percentage.

The Racers are set to visit the Hawkeye State for matchups against Northern Iowa and Drake, Friday and Sunday.
