Pena Named MVC Player of the Week

Murray State Women's Basketball's Briley Pena has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league, today.

Pena led the Racers in points per game through week with 16.5, contributing to the Racers back-to-back conference play wins. She had a field goal percentage of .647 and .615 from three-point range.

The Jonesboro, Arkansas native made 19 points and four rebounds against Illinois State while shooting 6-9 from the floor and 5-8 from beyond the three-point line. She also posted 14 points against Bradley while shooting 5-8 from the floor and 3-5 from range.

Pena is now tied for fifth in the nation with a .500 three-point field goal percentage.

The Racers are on a nine-game winning streak and will be on the road until the end of the month starting with a trip to Indiana State, Thursday.
