Racers Host Valparaiso For Home Finale

The Racers are set to close out the home slate of the 2024 regular season when they face the Valparaiso Beacons on Sunday, October 20 at Cutchin Field. Kick off is set for 1 p.m. CT.
Murray State are 2-5-1 all-time against Valpo dating back to their inaugural match in 2000. The Beacons were victorious in five of their first six matches, but the racers are 1-0-1 in the last two fixtures.
Valparaiso enters the match with a 4-10-1 record and are 0-6-1 in Missouri Valley Conference play this year as reigning MVC Tournament champions. The Beacons are led by head coach John Marovich, who is in his 17th season at the helm of Valpo's women's soccer program with a career record of 136-128-49.
The Beacons are led by Addy Joiner, who leads the team in goals (5), points (12), shots (22) and shots on goal (12). She is also tied with Landyn Wessels for the team lead in assists with two apiece.
Anna Cup has displayed consistency as one of Valpo's top defenders, being the only player to have totaled over 1,200 minutes on the pitch thus far this season.
As a team, the Racers are fourth in the MVC in shots taken with 188 with Breece Bass sitting in a tie for the most shots taken with 39. Murray State are also one of two teams in The Valley to have scored on multiple penalty kicks.
Junior Mary Hardy remains one of the MVC's top scorers, sitting in a tie for the fourth-most goals this season.
