The Racers are set to host the Illinois State Redbirds on Sunday, October 5 at 1 p.m. at Cutchin Field in Murray, Kentucky.

Illinois State enters Sunday's contest with a 1-2-1 record in conference play, coming off their first MVC win over Valparaiso after dropping consecutive matches to Belmont and Drake. The Redbirds are led by head coach Raleigh DeRose, who is in her first season as a collegiate head coach.

DeRose holds a 3-7-2 record entering the match at the helm of the Redbirds' soccer program. Illinois State's team is led by Chloe Cline, who has scored two of the Redbirds' five goals this season. Jade Rehberger and Erika Wells are tied for the team lead with two assists apiece. Five separate players have recorded at least 10 shots this season.

Murray State enters the match seeking its first win in conference play this year, aiming to bolt out of a scoring slump where the Racers have scored just one goal in their previous four matches.

Breece Bass currently leads the conference in shots (34) and has tallied the second-most shots on target with 16. Mary Hardy remains among the top 10 in goals scored in the MVC, sitting in an eight-way tie for the fifth-most goals with four this season.
