Racers Set To Compete At ITA Ohio Valley Regionals

The Racers are slated for the first of their last two tournaments of the fall, competing at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals in Mufreesboro, Tennessee that takes place October 10-14 at the Adams Tennis Complex hosted by Middle Tennessee.

Sophomore Valeria Chaikovskaia earned a spot in the main draw of the tournament after her Flight 1 title appearance at the MVC Individual Championships. She receives a first-round bye and will face a competitor coming from the qualifying draw.

Sophomore Varvara Alexeyeva, senior Paola Campigotto and sophomore Yuna Kadowaki are set to open play in the qualifying draw. If they win both of their matches tomorrow, they advance to the main draw which starts on Friday, October 11.

The pairings of Yuna Kadowaki/Yu Kikawa, Paola Campigotto/Varvara Alexeyeva and Valeria Chaikovskaia/Bruna Melato qualified for the main draw in doubles play and are scheduled to open their competition on Friday.

Freshmen Molly Null and Barbora Hermanova are also competing at the Adams Tennis Complex, but are playing in a separate tournament called the Blue Raider Invitational that is also hosted by Middle Tennessee.
