Racers Fall To Drake in Des Moines

The Racers (11-16) fell to 8-8 in the Missouri Valley Conference Sunday afternoon at the Knapp Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Racers hot the road to take on the Southern Illinois Salukis in Carbondale on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. tip.
Quincy Anderson led the Racers with 22 points for his fifth game this season of 20 or more. JaCobi White added 16 to the MSU offense, while Nick Ellington added 14.
In the first half, Ellington made it a 10-10 game at 13:43, before Anderson hit MSU's first 3-pointer at 9:05 , but the Racers trailed the Bulldogs 20-17. Drake got hot from the 3-point line to jump in front by nine points at 8:01. Wood cut the lead to 34-26 with a 3-point play at 2:47, but Drake's Tucker DeVries scored a 4-point play after a made 3-pointer and then another 3-point play to put the Racers behind 43-26 at 1:10. The Racers trailed 48-29 at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, Anderson scored MSU's first six points and 9-of-11 to get the Racers to 16 points down (58-42). Drake hit the Racers with their 12th and 13th 3-pointers on the day and pushed to a 68-44 lead with 12:34 remaining.
