Murray State softball caps off the Velvet Milkman Classic with a 2-0 win over Western Illinois, Sunday.

The Racers close the weekend with a 4-1 record, being the winningest team in the tournament. They are now 7-8 in the season after the third week.

How it Went
The Racers benefited from a two-scored run second inning.

Erin Lackey walked before stealing to third base on a wild pitch. Adison Hicks then hits an RBI bunt and got to first, followed with a steal to second and third. Bailey Broemmer RBI singled to score Hicks home.

Jenna Veber gets her sixth win and first shutout of the season after posting four strikeouts while only letting four hits and a walk through 26 batters faced.

What's next?
Murray State will head to Lipscomb for the Purple and Gold Challenge, Friday through Sunday. They will face Georgetown, North Dakota State and the hosts, Lipscomb.
