Garner Receives MVC Player Of The Week Honors

After hitting three home runs for the week, Carson Garner receives his first weekly MVC honors of 2024.
Junior infielder Carson Garner was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday afternoon.
Carson Garner hit three home runs this week, leading Murray State to a 5-0 record since Tuesday. Carson now has nine on the year, nearly matching his 2023 total of 10.
On Saturday, the Franklin, Tenn., native hit the game-tying RBI double in a comeback victory over Lindenwood to erase a four-run deficit in the eighth inning.
As well as leading the MVC in home runs, he also leads the conference in slugging percentage (0.907) and OPS (1.435) while also sitting amongst the top three in on-base percentage (.528), RBIs (23) and walks drawn (16).
Carson ranks fourth nationally in home runs, 18th in slugging percentage and top 35 in RBIs.
Garner and the Racers play their next game on the road at Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky on March 12 at 5:30 p.m. CT.
