Murray State softball close weekend at UNA Tournament with a 3-1 record.

In A Nutshell
Murray State softball wins falls 1-2 to UIC in their Missouri Valley Conference opening game, Friday.

The Racers fall on the wrong end of a tight offensive game where the Flames outhit the hosts 6-5.

How it went
The Flames scored a run on an error in the first inning. Adison Hicks responded with a single to second base followed by stealing second base and capped off with a scored run through Erin Lackey's RBI bunt.

After two scoreless innings, the visitors retook the lead at the top of the fifth and held the lead to clinch the game.

Murray's Own
Hicks led the Racers' offense with two hits and a scored run.

In the Circle
Jenna Veber is now 9-5 through the season. She posted six strikeouts while only allowing six hits and one walk.

What's next?
Murray State will play their second game against UIC, tomorrow.
