Racers Take Game Two to Even the UIC Series

Murray State softball makes it 1-1 against UIC.

Murray State softball wins 9-2 win over UIC to even the series, Saturday. They improve their record to 13-14 and is 1-1 in conference play.\

The Racers posted a season-high with their nine scored runs.

How it went
The Flames took the head start in the first inning with a two-run home run at the top of the first inning. The Racers responded in the bottom of the second inning as Adison Hicks reached home from a throwing error by UIC's pitcher.

Bailey Broemmer ties the game as she scored a run through Taylor Jackson's sacrifice fly RBI.

The Racers followed it up with a five-run fourth inning. Parker Holcombe hit her first career home run for the Racers inside the park. Broemmer has a single RBI, Taylor Jackson has an RBI double and Ava Ozment has a two RBI single.

MSU scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. Courtney Sandy scored on an obstruction error followed Lily Fischer scoring a run from a wild pitch.

Bre Haislip earned her first win of the season after pitching four shutout innings while only allowing two hits through 16 batters faced.
