Racers Take Game Two at Illinois State

Murray State softball force a rubber match with a 4-3 game two win at Illinois State.

Murray State softball won 4-3 to take game two at Illinois State, Saturday.

The Racers are now 3-3 in Missouri Valley Conference play. They are 15-16 overall this season.

How it went
The hosts took the early lead with an RBI single in the first inning but the Racers responded with scattered scored runs.

MSU's first run was scored in the third inning as Taylor Jackson earned a walk with loaded bases. Bailey Broemmer scored another run for the Racers in the fourth inning with an RBI bunt to bring Courtney Sandy home.

Adison Hicks reached base on a walk before Kayleigh White hit her second career home run to make it four for the Racers in the fifth inning. The Redbirds scored a two-run home run in the seventh inning but MSU were able to hold their lead.

Jenna Veber earned her 11th win of the season. She is now 11-6 and is the second winningest pitcher in the MVC while having the most starts (18).
