Racers Split Final Day at UNA Tournament

Murray State softball close weekend at UNA Tournament with a 3-1 record.
In A Nutshell
Murray State softball wins 4-0 over Detroit Mercy before losing 1-5 to North Alabama, Saturday.
The Racers went 3-1 on their weekend at the UNA Tournament, closing non-conference play with a 12-13 record.
Vs. Detroit Mercy
Jenna Veber earned her ninth win of the season to 9-4 on the season.
The Racer took charge early with an RBI single by Erin Lackey who scored Kayleigh White home. Parker Holcombe had a day by scoring two RBIs. Her first RBI came in the third inning as she hit a double to left field and her second came in the sixth inning after Ailey Schyck scored the Racers' third run in the fifth inning with an RBI single.
Vs. North Alabama
The Lions capitalized on a first-inning spurt as they scored five runs in the first inning. The Racers answered with Lily Fischer's RBI single through middle but the hosts kept the lead through the end to edge the Racers 5-1.
What's next?
Murray State will begin Missouri Valley Conference play at home when they host UIC, Friday through Sunday.
