Tee Time: Racers Play Hawkeye Invitational

The Murray State men's golf team plays the weekend in Iowa City, Iowa at the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course, the Racers' final event before next week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship.

The Racers are in another Power-5 event with Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska and Wisconsin entered. Last week, the Racers tangled the likes of Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame at the Hoosier Invitational in Bloomington.

Murray State freshman, Lennon Albans, was the Racers' top finisher in Bloomington with a spot in 32^nd place on rounds of 73-76-79=228.

The Iowa event marks MSU's first time playing at Finkbine, the home course of the Hawkeyes and one that is similar in that land was donated to make the course for the university, much like Miller Memorial, Murray State's home course. Finkbine opened in 1953 and was named by Golf Digest as one of the 200 toughest courses in the USA in the late 1960's.
