Murray State softball will host Drake for the first time in program history.

The Murray State softball will host Drake for their fifth Missouri Valley Conference series of the season, Friday through Sunday.

This will be the Bulldogs' first visit to Racer Field.

Notes

The Racersare coming off a 1-2 series loss against Indiana State.
Three out of five of the Racers' previous meetings with the Bulldogs has gone to extra innings.
Jenna Veber is leading the Racers from the circle with a 1.36 ERA and a 12-8 win-lose record.
Veber has made 20 starts through 27 appearances while posting seven complete games, three shutouts and one no-hitter.
Catcher Taylor Jackson one away from being the all-time program leader in caught stealing by.
Adison Hicks leads the Racers' scoring with 13 stolen bases through 14 attempts along with 18 scored runs.
Holcombe hit an inside parker against UIC.
Fischer is the current NCAA division I active leader in hit-by-pitch (69).
Catcher Taylor Jackson is second in the nation with 14 caught stealing by while the Racers are 40th in the nation in double plays per game (.43)
Murray State placed fourth in the regular season of their inaugural campaign at the Missouri Valley Conference last season. They are picked sixth in the preseason polls.

Series at Glance
This will be the sixth meeting between the Racers and the Bulldogs. The Racers lead the series 4-1 with Drake winning their last meeting 1-0 in 14 innings. Three out of five of the previous meetings has gone to extra innings.

This will be their first meeting in Racer Field.

Scouting Drake
Drake is 4-6 in Missouri Valley Conference play and is 16-17 overall this season. They won their previous MVC series 2-1 against Evansville and are coming off a 3-6 loss to Missouri.

Addie Lightner leads the Bulldogs' scoring with 19 RBIs while batting .288. Their offense is led by Emma Dighton with a .343 batting average.

In the circle, Molly Hoekstra took charge with a 3.58 ERA through 70.1 innings pitched.
