Racers Prepare for Multi Match Weekend

The Racers will face conference opponents Belmont and UIC in weekend matches
Murray State women's tennis has a stacked weekend, traveling to Belmont on Saturday and then holding their last home match of the season against UIC. The Racers are currently 11-5 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
The Racers are coming off a win against preseason favorites, Drake, in a close match. Graduate Emma Honore earned her 3rd straight match clinch with her win at the number three singles spot. Freshman Valeria Chaikovskaia had a huge match, defeating the reigning MVC Player of the Year, Ines Stephani, in a comeback win.
On Saturday the Racers will travel to face Belmont in Nashville, Tennessee. The Bruins are coming off a loss to UIC last weekend, their second of conference play. Number one singles player Mariia Hlahola was able to edge out her opponent, as well as at number three singles player Anastasiya Zholdakova, to give Belmont their two points of the match. The Bruins are 10-8 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
The Racers will head back home to face off against UIC, who currently sits third in conference rankings. UIC is coming off of a win against Belmont. The Flames were able to start the match strong by winning the doubles point, with Camille Belberka and Tamara Malazonia storming back from being down 5-3, before winning the next four games to clinch the 7-5 victory. UIC is currently 8-10 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
The Racers will travel to face Belmont on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex. MSU will return home to take on UIC on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at the Bennie Purcell Tennis Courts.
