Holcombe Hits Walk-Off as Racers Tie Series against Drake

Murray State softball takes game two 5-4 after 11 innings.

Murray State softball triumph 5-4 over Drake in an 11 eleven inning battle, tying the series, Saturday.

The Racers are now 6-9 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Â

How it Went
The Racers started off early in the bottom of the first inning. Lily Fischer earned a walk followed by a single to second base by Parker Holcombe and another single by Taylor Jackson to left field to load the bases. They are first on the scoreboard through Adison Hicks's sacrifice fly RBI.

Drake scored one run in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth inning, but the Racers responded with three runs in the fifth inning. Holcombe scored an RBI and Kayleigh White scored a two-RBI single to tie the game.

Scoreless innings took the game to 11th inning where the Racers earn the walk-off win through Holcombe's RBI single to score Taylor Franzen home from second base.

Jenna Veber pitched 6.2 innings and posted three strikeouts while only allowing seven hits through 27 batters faced. She earned her 13th win of the season.

Murray State will decide their series against Drake, tomorrow.
