Honore and Slezakova Named MVC Doubles Team of the Week

Emma Honore and Natalie Slezakova earn MVC honors after perfect weekend

Graduates Emma Honore and Natalie Slezakova were named the Missouri Valley Conference Doubles Team of the Week after a perfect weekend of matches.

The duo has played at the number one spot all year, and this weekend they faced Belmont and UIC. They defeated Belmont's Mariia Hlahola/Anastasiya Zholdakova, the reigning MVC Fall Doubles #1 Champion. They won 6-4 and handed the duo their first MVC loss of the season.

Honore/Slezakova then headed home to face UIC on Sunday. They were the lone doubles victors for the Racers, but they dominated at the number one spot. They defeated the UIC duo Agnes Gustafsson/Mayu Ushio 6-1.

Honore and Slezakova also won their respective singles matches, making Honore 4-0 on the weekend and Slezakova 3-0. Honore had her fifth consecutive match clinching win against UIC, sending the Racers to a 6-0 conference record.

The Racers will wrap up the regular season this weekend against Valparaiso and Bradley.
