Racers Clinch a Share of MVC Regular Season Title

Murray State women's tennis clinched a share of the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title after defeating Valparaiso on Saturday. This is the first MVC title in Murray State history.
The Racers dominated the match from start to finish, defeating the Beacons 6-1. All doubles pairs started strong, with Emma Honore/Natalie Slezakova clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win. With this win, Slezakova earned her 100th career win.
Heading into singles play, the Racers were quickly able to secure the match win. Sarah Bureau and Emma Honore won their matches in straight sets, with Honore's match being her 175th career win.Â
Graduate Marit Kreugel clinched the match in straight sets, defeating Valparaiso's Sydney Stone 6-3, 6-1. The rest of the Racers finished the match strong, with Slezakova and senior Annika Pschorr defeating their opponents in tiebreaker third sets.
With one more win, the Racers will be outright regular season champions. The Racers currently sit at 14-5 overall, with an undefeated 7-0 conference record.
The Racers will finish out the regular season tomorrow against Bradley at 12 p.m. at the Markin Tennis Courts in Peoria, Illinois.
