Racers Ready for Final Regular Season Matches

Racers will face Valparaiso and Bradley in final matches of the regular season
Murray State women's tennis will finish off the regular season on the road facing Valparaiso and Bradley. If the Racers win one of these matches, they will clinch the regular season MVC Conference Title.
The Racers are coming off a strong weekend against Belmont and UIC, their last home match of the season. Freshman Valeria Chaikovskaia defeated the 2022 Horizon League Player of the Year from UIC, Agnes Gustafsson. Graduates Emma Honore and Natalie Slezakova had a perfect weekend, going 4-0 and 3-0, respectively. Honore clinched both match wins, extending her streak to clinching five matches in a row. The Racers are heading into the weekend undefeated in conference play at 6-0, with a 13-5 record overall.
The Racers will first travel to face Valparaiso on Saturday. The Beacons are coming off a close loss to Missouri State, dropping the match 4-3. Olivia Czerwonka earned her 24th singles win this season, putting her in second place for most single season wins in school history. Valparaiso is 1-5 in conference play, with a 10-11 overall record.
The Racers will wrap up the weekend road trip facing Bradley on Sunday. The Braves are coming off a win against Northern Iowa, going 6-1 for the match. Four of the five singles match wins were done so in straight sets, with number one singles player Maria Bezmenova having a dominant tiebreaker set, 10-4. Bradley will first face Missouri State before taking on the Racers. Bradley is currently 2-5 in conference play, and is 8-14 overall.
The Racers will face Valparaiso on Saturday at 12 p.m. at the Valpo Tennis Complex in Valparaiso, Indiana. The Racers will finish off the season against Bradley on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Markin Tennis Courts in Peoria, Illinois.
