Racers to Face Tennessee in NCAA Tournament

The Racers will head to Knoxville to take on Tennessee in the first round of the NCAA Tournament
Murray State women's tennis will face the Tennessee Volunteers in the regional round of the NCAA Tournament. This is the first trip to the NCAA Tournament for the Racers since 2015.
The Racers defeated Illinois State in the MVC Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Valeria Chaikovskaia clinched both tournament wins at the number one singles spot, making the team champions. The Racers finished the season undefeated in league play, and 17-5 overall.
Tennessee will act as the Regional host for the first two rounds of the tournament. This is the second consecutive year that the Vols are hosting the opening round of the NCAA tournament. The Volunteers are coming off of a loss in the SEC Semifinals to Georgia, heading into the NCAA Tournament 9-4 in league play and 18-7 overall. They sit at #16 in ITA Team ranks, with two of their doubles pairs ranked as well.Â
The Racers will take on the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Goodfriend Tennis Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
