Merry Christmas! Racers To Play Diamond Head Classic

The Racers head to Hawaii Christmas week for three games in the 15th Diamond Head Classic
After making a trip to play basketball in Hawaii in 1998, the Murray State Racers are set to play in the Aloha State again during Christmas week at the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic.
SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu hosts the eight-team ESPN event on Dec. 22, 23 and 25, that includes the Murray State Racers, along with Charlotte, College of Charleston, Hawaii, Loyola Chicago, Nebraska, Oregon State and Oakland.

The bracket for the 15th staging of the Diamond Head Classic will be announced later.

The event covers three days of straight bracket play and a total of 12 games. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in the championship game on the final day of the tournament.

Previous Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic tournament champions include USC (2009, 2017), Butler (2010), Kansas State (2011), Arizona (2012), Iowa State (2013), George Washington (2014), Oklahoma (2015), San Diego State (2016), TCU (2018), Houston (2019), Vanderbilt (2021), Hawaii (2022), and Nevada (2023).

Murray State's only previous visit to Hawaii was for the Rainbow Classic in 1998 under MSU Hall of Fame coach Tevester Anderson. The Racers defeated Southwest Louisiana in between losses to Charlotte and Florida State.
