The Murray State baseball alumni made a standout performance in his first season of professional baseball.
Former Murray State Racers catcher Ethan Krizen was named to the 2024 All-United Shore Professional Baseball League, per the league office's release on Monday, September 2.
Krizen, a native of North Port, Florida, made 30 appearances for the Utica Unicorns with 27 starts. He batted .238 with three doubles, a pair of home runs and recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage on 250 chances. He also led the team with seven runners caught stealing.
Among players with a minimum 50 at-bats, Krizen sits in the top five in slugging percentage, on-base percentage and walks drawn.
"I'm really happy for Ethan and him earning the recognition," head coach Dan Skirka said. "He has put in a lot of work in his game, and it's pretty awesome to see it pay off at the professional level."
After helping lead his team to a 25-20 record and earning the top seed in the USPBL, Krizen and the Unicorns hold a spot in the league's championship game on Saturday, September 7 at 5:30 p.m. CT. They await the results of two bracket play games to determine their opponent.
All USPBL game broadcasts can be found on the USPBL Network YouTube channel and Facebook page.
