Late MSU Push Falls Short Against 1st Place Bradley

The Racers play Wednesday night in Carbondale against Southern Illinois
The Murray State Racers dropped a 74-61 defeat Saturday to the Bradley Braves at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers (10-9) and 4-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference., travel to Carbondale Wednesday to meet Southern Illinois and come back to The Bank Saturday)Jan. 25) to host Belmont.
The Racers put five in double-figure scoring including AJ Ferguson with 12, Kylen Milton and JaCobi Wood each with 11 and Nick Ellington and Alden Applewhite each with 10.
In the first half, the Racers hit five-straight shots to produce a 13-3 run for an 18-15 lead at 11:25. The Braves answered with a 15-2 run that spanned the final three minutes of the first half and the first four minutes of the second half to get their largest lead of the day at 50-39 with 14:25 remaining.
The Racers cut the lead to seven (65-58) with 5:25 left on a pair of Milton baskets and one driving layup by Terence Harcum, but never got any closer in falling to 5-3 at home this season.
