Volleyball Returns to Racer Arena - Hosting Braves, Purple Aces

Murray State hosts Bradley and Evansville for a pair of MVC matches.

The Murray State Racers will face the Bradley Braves and Evansville Purple Aces in a pair of home Missouri Valley Conference matches this weekend.
The Racers (3-14, 1-7 MVC) currently sit at the bottom of the MVC standings, while the Purple Aces (6-14, 2-6 MVC) are one spot ahead in 10th place. The Braves (8-12, 2-6 MVC) are one spot ahead of Evansville in ninth after losing six straight in conference play.
Senior Ella Vogel continues to be one of the MVC's top offensive threats. The outside hitter ranks second in the league with 3.65 kills per set and leads the Racers with 226 on the season. Fellow senior Federica Nuccio is second on the team with 126 kills, and her per-set average of 2.38 is her highest since 2022. Another senior, Morgan McClure, leads the Racers with 50 blocks this season.
Several freshmen have made key contributions throughout the year for the Navy & Gold. Setter Katie Titus leads the team with 306 assists, while libero Halle Forester leads with 173 digs. Freshman outside hitter Mija Pristovnik is third on the team with 107 kills and second in digs with 139.
Bradley has hit a rough patch in MVC play. After opening the season with an 8-6 record, the Braves have lost six straight, with their last win coming Sept. 27 over Illinois State. Tendai Tiley leads Bradley with 217 kills, while freshman Gracie Furlong has 205. Maria Drapp leads the MVC and ranks tied for 13th nationally with 737 total assists, averaging 9.33 per set. Senior libero Irene Mostardini has 331 digs and averages 4.19 per set.
Evansville picked up its second MVC win last week, completing a season sweep of Indiana State with a 3-1 victory on Oct. 14. Setter Kora Ruff ranks third in the MVC with 567 assists and is second in the league with 7.77 per set. Ainoah Cruz is second in the conference with 401 digs and an average of 5.08 per set. Hinsley Everett leads the Purple Aces with 207 kills (2.69 per set), while Chloe Cline has tallied 151. Sabrina Ripple leads the team with 71 blocks.
Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Dave Winder on the call.
Following their weekend homestand, the Racers will hit the road for a pair of matches in Illinois. They will face Illinois State on Friday, Oct. 31, at 6 p.m. CT in Normal, Illinois, and Bradley on Saturday, Nov. 1, in Peoria, Illinois.
