The Murray State Racers opened their third season in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in Vermillion
The Racers (0-5, 0-1 MVFC) come home next Saturday (Oct. 11) in a 6 p.m. kickoff against the Illinois State Redbirds at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray on Tackles for a Cure Day in Murray, Kentucky.

A rough second quarter for MSU saw the Coyotes score three times to put the Racers in a deep hole at the intermission trailing 35-7.

Jack Tannehill booted his fourth field goal of the season from 25 yards at 4:23 in the third quarter and Tyrell Campbell finished the MSU scoring for the day with a 1-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.
