Murray State Football looks for their first win of the season against Illinois State
For the first time in a month, the Murray State Football team hosts the Illinois State Redbirds in a 6 p.m. kickoff at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Kentucky.
The ninth all-time meeting between the two Missouri Valley Football Conference rivals comes on Tackles for a Cure Day as the Racers look for their first win of the season.
The Racers battled at No. 21 South Dakota last Saturday, but lost 49-24, while the Redbirds lost at No. 1 North Dakota State 33-16.
The game marks the third meeting between the two in the MVFC, both wins for ISU, including a 40-32 win in Murray a year ago. The Racers won the first meeting between the two in 2001, a win at home in Stewart Stadium. The Redbirds have won the last seven.
