Navon Shabazz Signs With Racer Basketball

Head Coach Ryan Miller adds Iowa star to 2026-27 recruiting class
Murray State head men's basketball coach Ryan Miller announced the signing of 6-3 guard Navon Shabazz who joins the Racers for the 2026-27 season as a freshman.

Shabazz, out of Des Moines, Iowa, joins the Racers from Iowa United Prep in Des Moines.

"We are excited to welcome Navon Shabazz to the Murray State family," said Miller. "Navon is a multi-talented combo guard who brings a high level of competitiveness and basketball IQ to Murray State. He's been on winning teams throughout his career, and we're looking forward to seeing him grow and develop with us as we pursue Missouri Valley Conference championships."

In his sophomore season in 2023-24, Shabazz was an Iowa All-State selection and helped Davenport Assumption High School win the Iowa Class 3A State Championship for the first time in 24 years. In the prior two seasons from 2021-23, he also played at Nova Southeastern University Prep in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Shabazz is currently playing the 2025-26 season for Iowa United Prep.
