The Racers honored seniors Ellington, Ferguson, Harcum, Milton and Wood on their final home game at The Bank
The Murray State Racers scored a comeback victory on Senior Night 85-75 over the Indiana State Sycamores in the final home game of the season at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The Racers (15-15) are 9-10 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Racers finish their third regular season in the MVC Sunday in Nashville against the Belmont Bruins at 2 p.m., with a chance to get as high as a No. 5 seed in next week's State Farm Arch Madness Tournament in St. Louis.
Terence Harcum led five Racers in double-figure scoring with his MSU-best 25 points on 4-of-7 from the 3-point line. Nick Ellington added a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. MSU also got 14 points, all in the second half, from JaCobi Wood and 11 points off the bench from KyeRon Lindsay and 10 points from AJ Ferguson, who was one rebound from a double-double.
Leading just twice in the first half, the Racers came out of the halftime intermission trailing the Sycamores 40-39.
The Racers finally got the burst they wanted with an 11-0 run in 2:11 to grab a 60-54 lead with 11:14 left when Alden Applewhite scored down the lane, Harcum nailed a 3-pointer, Lindsay scored in back-to-back trips and Ferguson scored a 3-point play.
Wood hit his first field goal, a 3-pointer to put the Racers in front 72-63 with 5:57 remaining and another three moments later and the Racers had a 10point lead at 5:18.
The Racers were able to grind out a typical physical MVC battle by hitting 8-of-10 from the free throw line to seal a 6-6 record at the CFSB Center in 2024-25.

Game Notes
- During the Racers deciding 11-0 run in the second half, they held the sycamores to seven-straight field goal misses and once MSU gained the lead, they never trailed the rest of the way.
- The Racers did a good job defending ISU's leading scorer Samage Teel and held him to 13 points (only four points in the second half) below his season average of 17.1ppg, which was second in the MVC coming into the game.
- During one stretch in the second half, the Racers help Teel scoreless for 11 minutes.
- MSU's Lindsay has impressive back-to-back games off the bench for the Racers with 17 in the last game at Bradley and 11 points today with six rebounds.
- In the last two games, Lindsay has scored 28 points on 11-of-16 from field, 6-of-9 from the free throw line, with 14 rebounds and four blocked shots.
- Harcum took a run at his career-high, but his 28 points at Old Dominion in 2023 when he wore Appalachian State's uniform still stands.
- Although his 25 today is his MSU-best in 30 games.
- Ellington now has three double-doubles this season for the Racers and six in his career.
- MSU continues to make a nice living at the free throw line and attempted and made season highs tonight on 30-41 (.732).
- The last time MSU attempted more than 41 free throws was Dec. 31, 2016 at home against Tennessee State when they went 35-of-43 (.814).
- In the last three games against Southern Illinois, Bradley and Indiana State, the Racers are an amazing 79-of-98 (.802).
- Wood (8-8), Harcum (5-5) and Morgan (4-4) combined to make 17-of-17 from the line tonight.
- MSU's 11-point margin (46-35) in the second half was their largest since a 44-24 effort at home against Valparaiso a year ago.
- Today's game was MSU's first home game in two weeks as they overcame having no power in the CFSB Center following a lightning strike on the MSU campus last week.
