Head Coach Jody Wright and staff continue their rebuilding of the Murray State roster for 2025
As the calendar turns to 2025, the second season in the Head Coach Jody Wright era heads into the spring with surging momentum after his first 12-month recruiting cycle.
Â
Wright announced Wednesday that the Racers are welcoming in a class of 67 student-athletes for their 2025 signing class, during press conference activities at the Dennis Jackson Racer Room in Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Kentucky.

"We just put an emphasis on finding winners anywhere we could find them," said Wright. "The biggest thing we wanted to accomplish with this class was to upgrade our size, especially on the offensive line and in the defensive secondary. A lot of people are waiting on the transfer portal, but we felt like these were some really great high school players and we were not going to turn them down."
The class is the largest ever assembled in program history, and is shaping up to be one of the highest-rated classes ever. Additionally, quarterback Kaleb Bailey out of Houston, Texas, became the highest-rated player in program history, joining the team as a highly-touted three-star prospect according to On3.
Â
Targeting offensive and defensive line recruits, the Racers had a mission to improve on Wright's view, that the Missouri Valley Football Conference is a 'line of scrimmage conference' and just one of the aspects that make the MVFC the top Football Championship Subdivision in the nation.
Â
"We were definitely deficient in those areas last season that we invested in some frames of kids, that can build and add size and strength," Wright added. "In our conference, you see a lot of guys like that and they were high school recruits and with work in the weight room and they grow into their frames."
