Racers Launch Four Homers to Complete Sweep of Lindenwood

Murray State takes both midweek games from the Lions at home.

The Murray State baseball team earned their 10th win of the season Wednesday with an 11-9 victory over Lindenwood. The Racers logged 16 hits in the ball game, eight of which went for extra bases.

Jonathan Hogart launched a pair of MSU's four home runs on Wednesday. Hogart's first, a two-run blast which scored Nico Bermeo, was part of a three homer fifth inning for Murray State. His second, a seventh inning solo shot, proved to be the difference maker giving Murray State their 10th run of the ball game. The junior from Madisonville, Ky., is now second on the team with five home runs.

Also going deep for the Racers were Luke Mistone and Carson Garner, who teamed up for back to back home runs in the fifth. Mistone is now hitting a team best .439.

Dustin Mercer continued his hot pace Wednesday. The senior out of Weddington, N.C. added three more hits to extend his on base streak to 13 games. He has reached base in all 13 of Murray State's games in 2025.

All nine of Murray State's starters accounted for at least one base hit in Wednesday's game.

Kane Elmy earned the win for the Racers, the senior out of Canton, Michigan pitched 3.2 innings of two run ball to earn his first win of the year.

Harper McLendon notched his second save of the year, the junior from Thomasville, Ga., recorded a five out save without allowing a hit.

Murray State improves to 5-0 all-time against Lindenwood.

The Racers now travel to Evansville, Ind. for a three-game set against Southern Indiana starting Friday. Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 6PM. All three games will stream live on ESPN+.
