
Racers Show Offensive Punch in Win Over Valparaiso

MSU wins for the 26th time in the season and are 9-5 in The Valley

Now 26-9 the Racers are 9-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference and go for the sweep Saturday in a 1 p.m. Central Time first pitch. MSU has won 11 out of their last 12 games and the last four.

MSU pounded out 13 hits for their 23rd game of double-digit safeties and their 16 runs solidifies their lead in the MVC in both runs and hits for the 2025 season.

Freshman shortstop, Connor Cunningham, led the MSU hit parade with a pair of home runs, while Jonathan Hogart led off the game with his 12th long ball of the spring to put him into a tie for the top spot in the MVC. Dan Tauken cracked his seventh homer of the season.

The Racers scored eight runs in the first four innings and put the game away with a seven-run sixth inning.

Nic Schutte won his third game for the Racers and went seven innings, scattering seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts as he limited the Beacons to two runs.
